In the lull before Black Friday sales and year-end incentives, Halloween is an opportunity for the 3 Birds team to showcase our creativity in a unique way. Past years have included intricate murder mysteries, interactive haunted houses, perilously delicious potlucks, and—of course—highly competitive costume contests.

This year, we asked our team to share some of their favorite Halloween costume memories. Here are some of our favorites—proof once again of why we’re proud to be unapologetically different.

Tannen, Sales & Marketing: “We had a costume contest that all the grades competed for in elementary school. My mom took the contest super seriously, she wanted to win. So, I had two costumes, one for trick-or-treating that I got to choose (Jasmine from Aladdin) and one for the contest that my mom got to choose... Barbara Bush.”

Alice, Creative: "When I was 6 I was Ariel from The Little Mermaid because you all know it's my dream to be a ginger. But I also lived in Ohio at the time and it was a particularly chilly evening so my mermaid ensemble was complimented with snow boots and a turtleneck."

Colin, Content: “I was a ninja for like...three years. Then I was a pirate. Anything that could get me a cool sword, basically.”

Kristel, Accounts: “When I was really young, I had to purchase my own costume with not a lot of money. I walked up to the local Rite-Aid by myself and out of everything I choose a basketball head mask. I showed up ready to go trick or treating wearing a full on track suit and a huge basketball head mask. I was actually proud of my costume (haha).”

Morgan, Content: “When I was little I really wanted to be Glenda, the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz, so my mom and I found a dress and made it look really awesome!”

Hannah, Special Operations: “I'm going to veer away from my childhood here and say that my favorite Halloween costume was from my junior year of college when I dressed up as a flower pot. I wore a huge orange bucket and "planted" flowers all around the edge.”

Emily, Content: “I was once a bag of jelly beans.”

From all of us at 3 Birds, happy Halloween!
