Last November, 3 Birds employees held a food drive benefiting TABLE NC, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide healthy, emergency food aid every week to hungry children living in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, NC. Following on last year’s success, our team came together to support the organization once again this year – and this time we made it interesting.
We hosted a Thanksgiving-themed potluck on November 22, encouraging flock members to bring their favorite holiday dishes: both traditional (mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, mac & cheese) and not-so-traditional (pumpkin parmesan biscuits, pineapple casserole). However, there was a catch: every participant was required to bring at least three items from the TABLE Most Needed Foods list.
Of course, 3 Birds employees aren’t ones to do just the bare minimum, and our team members impressed us with their generous contributions. 3 Birds members also delivered the food to TABLE NC personally.
Support for TABLE is a long-standing tradition for co-founders Kristen and Layton Judd. During the rest of the year, Kristen and Layton, along with their children Monte, Clementine, and Tallulah, volunteer by packing lunches for their organization. “The number of children who would go hungry without TABLE’s services is staggering,” said Kristen. “We’ve always felt passionately about sharing our gifts with the community—as a family and as a company—and it’s an honor to bring more awareness to TABLE’s critical mission.”
